Some aspects of Medical law   Sergey Pavlov PhD (Jurisprudence), lawyer    The nature of the medical profession makes an understanding of the law governing the profession extremely important because everyone will seek help from a physician at some point of their lives. Medicine may meet law in at least four circumstances: 1)           Legislation and administrative regulations affecting medical practice; 2)           Court judgments on problematic or controversial ethical issues in medicine; 3)           Lawsuits regarding medical malpractice and/or negligence; and 4)           The use of medical matters as evidence in courts for other criminal or civil proceedings.            Understanding law is inevitable for medical professionals because this helps them to understand the standards prescribed by legal requirements. It also helps them to become law-abiding and minimize the risk of civil or even criminal consequences and liabilities. Medical law is a branch of law concerned with
